How it works
Fill. Freeze. Release. Pour.

Stand them upright in the freezer and leave them overnight.
Release
Squeeze the silicone and the sphere comes away.
Pour
Sphere in the glass, drink over the top. That’s it.
Why a sphere
Less surface, slower melt.
Slower to melt
A sphere has the least surface area for its volume of any shape, so it melts more slowly than the same amount of ice in cubes.
Less watered down
Slower melting means slower dilution. It won’t stop it — ice is still ice — it just gives you longer before the drink turns thin.

Questions, answered.
Does it make perfectly clear ice?
No, and we’d rather tell you now. Like most moulds, you’ll see some cloudiness from air trapped as the water freezes. Truly clear ice needs a directional-freezing setup. What you do get is a big, slow-melting sphere that looks far better than cubes.
How long does freezing take?
Plan for overnight. Freezers vary, and a large sphere takes longer to freeze through than a tray of small cubes.
Is it easy to get the ice out?
Yes — squeeze the silicone and the sphere comes away. If it’s stuck fast straight out of a very cold freezer, give it a minute on the bench first.
Will it fit in my freezer?
Each mould is smaller than a coffee mug and stands upright, so three fit easily on a shelf or in the door.
What drinks is it best for?
Spirits served neat or on the rocks — whisky, bourbon, rum — and short cocktails like an old fashioned or negroni. For long drinks and soft drinks, ordinary cubes are fine.
How do I clean it?
Warm soapy water, then let it dry before refilling. Silicone can pick up smells from strong food in the freezer, so keep it away from the fish.
